Is there a fee if I do not attend my booked appointment?
Whilst we understand that sometimes things happen and you cannot make your booked appointment we do ask that you please contact our practice to cancel this appointment.
We do require a minimum of 2 hours for cancellations in order for us to ensure that this appointment time can be used by someone else who needs our care.
Late cancellations and missed appointments will incur a “Did not attend” (DNA) fee of $40.00 for this missed appointment. Higher fees apply for longer appointments and those during the After-Hours period. It is a requirement of our practice that this fee is paid prior to any further appointments being booked.
Can I see the same doctor each time I visit?
Where possible we will book you in with the same doctor. Unfortunately your preferred doctor may not always be available when you need them. If you cannot wait you can choose to have an appointment with another doctor who will have full access to your notes and then you can choose to return to your preferred doctor.
Is it possible to arrange a home visit if I am unable to come to you?
Home visits may be provided for patients at the discretion of their GP.
We can provide Home Visits when it is appropriate, depending on circumstances and considering the safety of all staff.
If you require a home visit during clinic hours, it needs to be safe and reasonable for the GP, and within a 5km radius of the clinic.
If the requested home visit is deemed neither safe nor reasonable, a telephone consultation will be offered.
How can I provide feedback to your practice?
We have a customer feedback form and box in our waiting room, however if you would prefer to speak with the practice manager directly please call our practice on 9582 4999 and ask to speak with the manager. Alternatively if you are unhappy with our service and we have been unable to meet your requirements you can contact the state health complaint agency - The Health and Disability Services complaint office GPO Box B61 Perth WA 6838 - Ph: 08 9323 0600 Fax 08 9221 3675 Freecall 1800 813 583
Will my doctor contact me via phone or can I call to speak to them?
Whilst we can appreciate that sometimes you just need to speak with your doctor, our doctors are usually consulting and as when you have an appointment they strive to give their patients the time they need in their appointment. As a result this means that we are unable to put you straight through to your doctor. We will however take a message and notify your doctor at the next available time dependent on the urgency. We do encourage where possible to make an appointment so that you can see your doctor.
How do I follow up my test results?
Once you have had the required tests the results will come back to the doctor that referred you. Your doctor will review these results and if they are normal and no action is required you will not here from us. If your results require a follow up appointment with your doctor we will send you a sms indicating that you require a follow up appointment. If your result require urgent follow up you will receive a call from either your doctor or the practice nurse requesting that you make an appointment to see your GP. For privacy reasons results will not be given out over the phone. If you would prefer to follow up with your doctor regardless of the result you are welcome to make an appointment to discuss your results.
Do you have a reminder system for appointments and tests?
For all of our consultation bookings, we use a computer generated SMS service for reminders of your appointment where your consent has been given. For your routine tests we have a recall system that ensures you will get sms reminding you that you are due for an appointment with your GP eg. in the event of an annual pap smear.
Can I email my doctor and get information emailed to me?
Unfortunately we do not have an encrypted email system and as a result we are unable to communicate via email unless your written consent is obtained. You are welcome to email our practice on info@thebridgefamilypractice.com.au and it will be forwarded to your doctor however due to confidentiality we are unable to reply to your message with confidential information and our preferred method of contact for such information is to call our rooms or book an appointment.
Our team of dedicated physicians deliver personalised, quality healthcare. We provide a broad spectrum of healthcare aspects within our practice and concentrate our focus on delivering care in a direct and accessible way to our community.
